General
Pandora's Box is a 2D, Action Adventure Platformer in which the player takes up the role of the mythical woman known as Pandora, who had her box stolen by a group of thieves. The bandits chipped the box while they were escaping, and caused some of the evils to escape from the box. Now the player (Pandora) must hunt down their box, and recapture any evils that have escaped from it.
Gameplay
Pandora (the player) is no fighter, and as a result they will lose a life when they make any form of physical contact with an enemy. Instead they must sneak around enemies, while using bushes, boulders, and treetops as cover to hide from enemies. Additionally, the player is able to trap the released evils within a pot that she carries. The pot is the player’s only way of truly fighting back. The player must use both the pot and stealth to overcome the challenges that each level presents. At this point in time, the game is split into three different levels. Level one introduces the basic gameplay mechanics to the player. Level two introduces a variety of enemies as well as environmental challenges. The final level mixes the prior two levels, and the level end has the player fight a boss.
